IEH Laboratories & Consulting Group is pleased to announce Dr. Wilfredo Ocasio as Vice President of Technical Services.
Bringing over three decades of experience in food safety research, Dr. Ocasio specializes in validating food processing and packaging equipment, developing HACCP programs, and ensuring compliance with cGMPs. Previously serving as Chief Science Officer for The National Food Laboratory and Executive Director of Food Safety Research for Covance and Eurofins Advanced Food Microbiology Group, Dr. Ocasio’s expertise is highly regarded in the industry. He currently serves on the Executive Advisory Board for the Institute of Food Safety and Health at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His significant contributions include chairing the Acidified Foods and Beverage Professional Development Group and serving on the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods. In recognition of his outstanding work, Dr. Ocasio was the recipient of the 2014 Darsh Wasan Food Safety Award, sponsored by the Institute of Food Safety and Health. In 2022, he also received a Merit Award from the Institute for Thermal Processing Specialists for his lifetime contributions to the institute.
Dr. Ocasio’s extensive background and leadership in the field will be instrumental in ensuring excellence in food safety.
